Triing is designed as a local-first app. The current app does not collect recovery data from the app or send it to TRI.

Effective date: May 6, 2026

Overview

Triing is a recovery support and reflection app from TRI. The app helps users reflect on substance-use patterns, create recovery plans, complete check-ins, review progress, save guidance, and schedule reminders.

Data the App Handles Locally

The app may store the following information on the user's device:

This information is stored locally on the user's device and is not sent to TRI by the current app.

Data Collection

The current app does not create an account, send recovery data to TRI, use analytics, show ads, track users across apps or websites, collect location, access contacts, use HealthKit, access the camera, or access the microphone.

Notifications

If the user enables reminders, Triing asks for notification permission and schedules local reminders on the device. Reminder content is generated by the app and is not sent to TRI.

External Links

If a user taps a crisis, treatment, nicotine quit-line, or support link, the phone app or an external website may open. Those services are separate from Triing and have their own privacy practices.

Deleting Data

Users can remove locally stored app data by deleting Triing from their device. If future versions add cloud sync, accounts, export, reset controls, analytics, support forms, crash reporting, or remote push notifications, this policy and App Store privacy answers should be updated before release.

Health and Safety

Triing is a reflection and support tool. It is not a medical device, diagnosis tool, emergency service, or substitute for professional care. Some withdrawal or safety situations require urgent or professional support.
